Why are our classes different to Pilates at your Gym?
Our Clinical Pilates and Strength classes are run by a Physiotherapist who has been trained in the Pilates method as well as other strength and exercise techniques. Our classes are different because before we even start your program we will do a thorough assessment with you to identify any postural or muscle imbalances, faulty movement patterns and most importantly your individual “Driver profile’ that is causing your injury, discomfort or movement concerns. We believe this is essential if you are trying to rehabilitate your body after injury or pain, or if you are trying to correct a faulty movement pattern that is stopping your performing at your best – whether that is an elite sport, running to work, surfing or simply playing with your children.
Our classes utelise Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Wunder chair and Trapeze table, as well as mat based exercises using weights, kettle bells and other equipment to retrain movements such as squats, lunges, planks, running and everything in between to get you moving and feeling better ASAP.
We run Private, Duo 2:1 or Semi-private 3or4???? :1 classes. This allows us to give you enough support and attention to ensure you are not compensating, and are performing the movement correctly for your individual body. We can focus specifically on exercises that are beneficial to you in a closely supervised session to address your goals. Everyone’s bodies are different and doing our classes with our highly trained Physio’s ensure you are participating in a goal orientated and individualised session, which is very different to doing a general fitness based Pilates class with 10 other people.
Our classes are individualised and Physio led, which allows you to claim them through your health fund if your cover allows.
