Why are our classes different to Pilates at your Gym?
Our Clinical Pilates and Strength rehabilitation classes are run by one of our Physiotherapists who has extensive training in Pilates and clinical rehabilitation and the ConnectTherapy and Thoracic Ring Approach models of physiotherapy. This allows our Physios to uniquely tailor your rehab to suit your needs and goals.
Before you start, we require you to have a thorough 1-on-1 assessment with one of our Physios to identify any postural or muscle imbalances, faulty movement patterns, and most importantly your individual ‘Driver profile’ that is the reason behind your pain, injury, discomfort, or movement concerns.
We believe this assessment is essential if you are trying to rehabilitate an injury, recover from pain, or just perform better. Whether your aim is to be pain free, participate in elite level activities, run your next marathon, or simply chase after your kids, having an assessment first allows us to specifically tailor your rehab to your unique body and goals.
Our studio uses Pilates equipment such as the Reformer bed, Wunda Chair, Spring Boards, and mat and floor based exercises using weights, kettlebells, and TRX suspension systems to help you retrain movements and build strength and control to get you back to your best.
There are a number of different class options. We offer private 1-on-1 sessions, semi-private 2-on-1 sessions that are perfect for you and a friend, and group classes that have a maximum of 4 participants.
By having small class sizes it allows our Physios are able to give you enough attention to ensure you’re getting the most out of the class and performing each exercise correctly for your individual body. Our Physios are able to focus specifically on exercises that are beneficial to you and your goals in a closely supervised environment.
Everyone has a unique body and way of moving. By doing our classes with our highly trained Physios ensures you’re participating in a goal orientated and individualised session, very different to attending a general fitness class with 25 others.
All our Clinical Pilates and Strength rehabilitation classes are run by Physiotherapists. This allows you to claim these classes on the spot using your private health insurance if you have Physiotherapy cover.
Pre Class Pilates Assessment
It is compulsory to have an assessment with one of our Pilates Physiotherapists prior to your first class. This includes if you are already a patient with us.
This is for your safety, so we can understand previous injuries and so we know which exercises you may not be able to do.
This may include the use of the Real Time Ultrasound to make sure you have a good understanding of what muscles to use.
