Let's Welcome our new Physio: Lindel Caine

Lindel is a passionate Pilates physio who first became interested in the human body when she injured herself at the young age of 12. After spending a lot of her teenage years seeing various physio’s for her injury, Lindel realised that she wanted to be able to help people in the same position she had been in, to get better and to get their bodies and life back. This lead her down the track of becoming a Physio herself.

As a Pilates physio, Lindel loves how the two modalities compliment each other. She believes that Pilates is a wonderful form of exercise for those who are scared to start moving again post injury or just feel that they need someone to supervise who has a deeper understanding of their own bodies complexities. So if that sounds like you, don’t hesitate to drop by with any questions.

When Lindel is not working, she loves to go to the beach. She is currently learning to surf, so if you have any advice or tips she would love to hear them!

Q&A:

Q1: Why do you love Pilates? Who is it for and what can we expect from you as a Pilates physio?

I love Pilates!! It is for absolutely everyone, no matter the gender, age or level of physicality. Pilates is so much more than how it is perceived. It creates a space for mindfulness, it’s an amazing form of exercise for bodies that prefer low impact over HIIT exercise. It’s is also great for pre & post natal women. I love that Pilates is tailored to the individual, their capabilities and their goals. A session can be as gentle or as hard on the body as the client allows it to be.

I really love how Pilates blends with Physio. It is a wonderful form of exercise for those who are scared to start moving again post injury or just feel that they need someone to supervise who has a deeper understanding of their own bodies complexities.

Q2: What is your all time favorite movie?

Love Actually, definitely cliched but can’t go past it.

Q3: Which two people alive or dead would you love to sit down with and have a couple of coffees/wines with?

Roger Federer - I am mesmerised by how effortless his movement is and how he has managed to have such a long standing and unrivalled career with limited injuries. His grace off court and how humble he appears amazes me.

Osher Gunsberg - I have a not so secret obsession with the Bachelor and would love to know all the ins and outs and what goes on behind the scenes! Plus I think he has some very forward thinking ideas about environmental awareness, and is so much more than the man that hands out the roses each week.

Q4: What are you looking forward to with moving from Adelaide to Bondi/Sydney?

The beach!! I am a huge lover of the ocean (although unfortunately still do not know how to surf well, any tips are well received) and I can’t wait to live as close as possible. I’m excited for a new adventure and to see all that the big city life has to offer.
